Guest Biography: Arriving in March 2006, John Groarke is USAID’s Deputy Mission Director in Cairo, Egypt. Since June 2007 he has been serving as Acting Mission Director. A senior Foreign Service Officer, Mr. Groarke previously served as USAID Deputy Mission Director in Iraq, overseeing reconstruction and development programs in democracy, economic governance, education, health, infrastructure, and humanitarian assistance.

Joining USAID in 1995, Mr. Groarke has served as Legal Office Director for USAID-Senegal, Regional Legal Advisor in USAID-Bangladesh, and Attorney Advisor in Washington D.C. Mr. Groarke holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from New York University. He speaks French and is married with two children.

السيرة الذاتية لضيفنا ‏: يعمل جون جرورك منذ مارس 2006 نائب مدير الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية في مصر. وخلال شهر يونيو الى سبتمبر 2007 هو ايضا بمثابة المدير المؤقت للوكالة.
السيد جون جرورك من كبار رجال السلك الدبلوماسي، وقبل توليه عمله بالقاهرة كان يشغل منصب نائب مدير الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية في العراق ، والاشراف على برامج اعادة الاعمار والتنمية في مجال الديمقراطيه، والادارة الاقتصادية والتعليم والصحة والبنية الاساسية والمساعدات الانسانيه. انضم السيد جرورك الى الوكالة في عام 1995 ، كما عمل مديرا للمكتب القانوني في الوكالة الامريكية للتنمية الدولية بالسنغال والمستشار القانوني الاقليمي في هيئة المعونة الامريكية ببنغلاديش ، والمحامي المستشار في واشنطن العاصمة - يحمل السيد جرورك شهادة في القانون من جامعة بنسلفانيا ، ماجستير في العلاقات الدولية من مدرسة لندن للاقتصاد ودرجة البكالوريوس في العلوم السياسية من جامعة نيويورك. وهو يتكلم الفرنسية ومتزوج ولديه طفلان.
