Guest Biography: Haynes Mahoney, Public Affairs Counselor for the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, is the head of the Public Affairs Section. In this position, he is responsible for the embassy's public affairs and public diplomacy programming. A veteran diplomat, he joined the State Department in September 1980.
He served in Pakistan, Germany, Jordan, Syria, Yemen and Egypt in various public affairs and cultural positions.

He was Cultural Affairs Officer in Cairo from 1998 to 2002.

Haynes Mahoney speaks Arabic and German. He earned a Master’s in Journalism from Temple University and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

السيرة الذاتية لضيفنا ‏: هاينز ماهوني ، مستشار الشؤون العامة للثقافة والإعلام في السفارة الامريكية بالقاهرة. وهو المسئول عن برامج الشؤون العامة الدبلوماسية بالسفارة الأمريكية. إنضم الى وزارة الخارجية في سبتمبر 1980. خدم في باكستان وألمانيا والاردن وسورية واليمن ومصر في مختلف الشئون العامة والمراكز الثقافيه. كان مسؤول الشئون الثقافيه في القاهرة في الفترة من 1998 الى 2002. هاينز ماهوني يتكلم العربية والالمانيه. حصل على درجة الماجستير في الصحافة من جامعة تمبل وماجستير في القانون والدبلوماسية من كلية فليتشر في جامعة تافتس.
