Cairo – Motel Motel made their first Cairo appearance in their Egypt tour at the Sawy Culture Wheel on Monday, August 10. The five member band from Brooklyn, New York, entertained the enthusiastic crowd of young and old with a mix of alternative country and traditional American rock. “Motel Motel” was named one of the top 20 bands currently playing in New York City by the newspaper “NY Press,” and mentioned by the arts and entertainment guide “L Magazine” as one of the top bands to hear in New York City. “Paper Magazine” calls Motel Motel “the rare band that defies comparison.”
Motel Motel is in Egypt on their first international tour at the invitation of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. The band has been well received by thousands of Egyptians at concerts in Alexandria, Port Said, Marsa Matruh and Cairo. In addition to concerts, the band has also led workshops on American rock music for children and students.
