السيدات والسادة، صباح الخير

أشكر تواجدكم هنا اليوم ، أود أن أبدأ بشكر الرئيس مبارك على استقباله الدافئ وحسن ضيافته. فالولايات المتحدة ممتنة لمصر لدورها القيادي فى تحقيق وقف إطلاق النار. ونحن نؤيد جهود مصر المستمرة لتمديد وتعزيز وقف إطلاق النار للأهمية القصوى لذلك. والولايات المتحدة ملتزمة بقوة بتحقيق السلام الدائم والإستقرار فى المنطقة. فقرار الرئيس أوباما إرسالي الى المنطقة فى أقل من أسبوع من توليه السلطة دليل واضح وملموس على هذا الإلتزام.

إني أتطلع لإستكمال مناقشاتي ومشاوراتي مع العديد من قادة المنطقة وأوروبا وسوف أقدم تقرير بنتائج هذه الزيارة الى الرئيس أوباما ووزيرة الخارجية كلينتون.

وإني أتطلع الى العودة الي المنطقة مرة أخرى فى المستقبل القريب لمواصلة هذه الجهود.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for joining us here today. I want to begin by thanking President Mubarak for his warm reception and hospitality. The United States is grateful to Egypt for its leadership in bringing about a ceasefire. It is of critical importance that the ceasefire be extended and consolidated, and we support Egypt’s continuing efforts in that regard. The United States is committed to vigorously pursuing lasting peace and stability in the region. The decision by President Obama to dispatch me to come to this region less than one week after his inauguration is clear and tangible evidence of this commitment. I look forward to continuing my discussions and consultations with many leaders in this region and in Europe and will, in just a few days, report my findings directly to President Obama and to Secretary Clinton. I look forward to returning to the region in the very near future to continue this effort. Thank you all very much for being here today and I wish you all a good day. Thank you.
