Cairo
– The U.S. Ambassador to Egypt recently met with students who are part of USAID/Egypt's scholarship program designed to strengthen commercial law education in Cairo and Alexandria Universities. Each of the students has been accepted and received funding to attend a U.S. university to earn their masters or doctoral degree.

The students are all junior members of the two law faculties. When they return to Egypt they will be faculty members at their Egyptian Universities and will train others in commercial law.

Commercial law is one of the areas identified by the Government of Egypt and the U.S. Government in the competitive environment for investment project as critical for the future of business development in Egypt.

Two students will be attending Tulane University Law School. Three students will attend American University, and three will study at George Washington University.

The University of Connecticut will host two students, while one student will attend each of the following schools: Georgetown University, University of Virginia, Northwestern University, the University of California - Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, and Southern Methodist University.
