Handles requests for information and assistance from Egyptian and international print and electronic media, provides documents, press releases and transcripts about current issues, as well as visits of high level officials to Egypt. The office also organizes press conferences and
interviews for U.S. officials, and organizes Digital Video Conference interactive programs with U.S. government officials and other American experts.
The office also distributes official texts,
transcripts, and statements about U.S. policies via the daily Washington
File and other
publications. All
transcripts of U.S. government official interviews done in Cairo, as well
as speeches and video clips, are posted on the embassy’s Internet web
site, which is managed by the Information Section.
