The Consular visit to Alexandria normally takes place on the last Sunday of each month. If this Sunday falls on an Egyptian or American holiday, the visit is postponed to the following Sunday. It may also be changed as a result of exigent circumstances so please regularly check this page for the latest information of dates of visits.
Services are provided on a first-come first-served basis and clients should be prepared for a long wait. Only reports of Birth Abroad interviews are done by appointment.

Please note the following:
1. Passports and Reports of Birth will be issued in Cairo and returned to applicants by DHL.
2. Reports of Birth applications must be submitted to the American Citizen Services unit at the Embassy via DHL courier. See the page on Consular Reports of Birth Abroad.
3. You must be physically present for some services, e.g. passport renewals.
4. The exact fee is required in U.S. dollars or the equivalent in Egyptian pounds at the rate - No $100 bills will be accepted. Change cannot be given.
5. Photos are required to be on a light background with front view and must be 5x5 cm (2x2 inches)
6. For notarization of documents, the original, a photocopy and the translator’s presence are required
