القاهرة – قامت السفيرة مارجريت سكوبي اليوم بزيارة معرض "كايرو آي سي تي" السنوي الثالث عشر بمركز القاهرة الدولي للمؤتمرات. والتقت السفيرة أثناء زيارتها بممثلي عدد من شركات تكنولوجيا المعلومات الأمريكية المشاركة بالمعرض وهي مايكروسوفت، صن مايكروسيستمز، أوراكل، هيوليت-باكارد وسيسكو.

وقد صرحت السفيرة اثناء الزيارة بأنها "سعيدة جداً للتواجد هنا وزيارة هذا التجسيد لعمق وثراء صناعة تكنولوجيا المعلومات في مصر." وأضافت السفيرة "أنا سعيدة جداً وبشكل خاص لرؤية الشركات الأمريكية هنا ولمعرفة أنهم يعملون عن كثب مع شركائهم المصريين لنشر الكفاءة وزيادة أنشطة الاستثمار والأعمال. أعتقد أن ذلك يمثل إشارة رائعة بالنسبة لي أن أرى دور الشركات الأمريكية هنا وبالنسبة لزوار المعرض أن يتعرفوا على أهمية شراء البرامج الأصلية، أياً كان من ينتجها، للحصول على كافة مزاياها وفوائدها بالإضافة إلى مستويات الجودة العالية التي توفرها هذه الشركات الأمريكية. من الرائع أيضاً أن أشاهد الحكومة الإليكترونية وهيئة تنمية صناعة تكنولوجيا المعلومات هنا لأني أرى أن هناك نمواً حقيقياً في هذه الصناعة في مصر ولديكم جميعاً مواهب وقدرات هنا في مصر وإن لشيء مبهر أن أرى هذا العدد الكبير من شركاتكم هنا اليوم أيضاً".

Cairo – Today, Ambassador Margaret Scobey visited the 13th annual Cairo ICT at the Cairo Convention Center. While at the show, the Ambassador had the opportunity to visit the displays and meet with representatives of five American IT companies working in Egypt: Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard and Cisco.

At the event the Ambassador stated that “it’s really very exciting to come here and visit this demonstration of the breadth and richness of the IT industry in Egypt. I am very happy, particularly to come by and see the American companies here, and know that they are working very closely with Egyptian partners to spread efficiencies, additional business promotion and investment activities. I think that it is really a great sign for me to see the role of American companies here and for visitors to these exhibits to understand the importance of buying genuine software, wherever you buy it from, to get the advantage of all of its elements, the new benefits that it can bring, as well as the reliability that these American companies bring. It’s also great to see the E-government and IT Data here because I think that there is a real growing industry in Egypt and you all have a lot of talent here in Egypt and it’s really impressive to see so many of your businesses here today, too.“
